Start Planning Now for Black History Month!
September is here, which marks the end of my summer sabbatical, and the start of a busy season
full of speaking engagements and retreats. It also means that Black History Month is only five months away!
Planning early and putting thought and effort into your initiatives for next year is one way to actively show that diversity and inclusion is a priority for your
organization.
What are some things you can start doing now? (I'm glad you asked!)
Start reaching out to guest speakers for keynote addresses, fireside chats or panel discussions. February is
a short but extremely busy month, so it is best to get dates confirmed early. I would love to collaborate, so please reach out to me now to discuss!
Check in with affinity or ERG group leaders in your organization. See if they already have thoughts on programs and initiatives and ask how the organization can support their plans.
Plan a presentation or workshop. This is a great opportunity to continue (or start) conversations on unconscious bias, allyship, and anti-racism.
That is just a short list to get you started. Click below for more programming suggestions, and as always feel
free to reach out to me by replying to this email.
I'd also love for you to share this information with your network on social media. If you do, be sure to tag me! (Twitter,LinkedIn, and Instagram) #CoachPaula
Lastly, feel free to reply to this email with your thoughts. I love hearing from you!
