Do you ever find yourself caught in an endless
stream of emails?
Your phone or apple watch constantly dinging every time someone replies?
This can easily be avoided
if we all gently remind
one another to NOT
reply all when responding
to an email! We can
also avoid this if we are sending the first email, by adding all participants
to bcc.
That way, all participants
are not automatically
replied to when you respond.
You're welcome!

Welcome September!
Hello all:
I am so excited to be back in the groove of work and preparing for a very busy few months to wrap up the year. I very much enjoyed my summer sabbatical. It was restorative and I'm glad I took the time so that I can be prepared for all the good work that we will get done together going
forward.
I want to be vulnerable with you for a moment: my break was partially voluntary, and partially mandatory. I was experiencing some of the
physical manifestations of stress. I won't go into specifics with all the details, but suffice it to say this:
When we don't prioritize self care, and make sure that it is a part of our daily
routine, just like eating breakfast, brushing your teeth, washing your face, etc., when we don't care for ourselves properly, our bodies will tell us that we need to slow down.
Most of my summer was spent lying down. Napping, reading, more napping, and spending time with my family. This was an important re-charge that I needed.
I was very happy to see so many responses to my out of office, and that people felt that my decision gave them the courage and agency to take time off themselves. That was my intention, not just saying to you "I'm gone", but rather saying, "I'm gone, but I want you to consider, in whatever way you can, focusing on your own self-care and rest."
So I will continue to model and provide you messaging to that end as I continue on my journey of healing, resting, working, innovating,
and collaborating.
Take a look below to find out about my upcoming public presentations. If you are interested in collaborating with me, I'm excited to take on new and returning clients for engaging and impactful diversity and inclusion and professional development work to support employees in your workplace.

As many of you are aware, September can be a challenging time for me as I lost my mother, Joan Donna Griffith in the attacks on September 11th. In addition to that, my nine-year-old son is a cancer survivor and September is childhood cancer month. You can check out this link regarding how you can support children who are fighting childhood cancer. Both of these reasons make September a lot, but they also energize me to do the work.
Let's connect! I'd love for you to share any of the events, ideas, articles or reflections from this newsletter on social media. If you do, be sure to tag me! (Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram) #CoachPaula
