Happy Allyship April!
Last month I launched a social media campaign called #MicroaggressionsMarch
to highlight some of the microaggressions that people experience in the workplace. My intention was to get people talking about how they deal with these incidents and what they would do in a particular situation. The responses that came in were amazingly insightful and really reflected the challenges of addressing microaggressions.
To continue the conversation this month, I will be focusing on allyship best practices and strategies this month in a new social media campaign called #AllyshipApril. Follow along, and interact/engage with me on social media.
The last few weeks have been difficult for a myriad of reasons, including the televised Derek Chauvin trial and the trauma of reflecting on George Floyd’s murder.
In addition, I have been deeply reflecting and encouraging education and allyship in response the increased violence, discrimination, and bias being experienced by members of the AAPI community.
As a diversity trainer and antiracism educator, it was an honor to facilitate the recent ACC Foundation’s Courageous Conversation panel on #StopAsianHate. The conversation was truly an impactful and thought provoking experience. You can view the recording here, and the resources are available here.
